A Sweet History
Rowntree’s® began in York in 1862, when Henry Rowntree transformed a small cocoa works into a thriving confectionery business. Joined by his brother Joseph and expert French confectioner August Claude Gaget, the company created iconic sweets like Fruit Pastilles (1881), followed by Fruit Gums, Jelly Tots, and Tooty Frooties.
Jelly Tots have been sparking joy for generations — and they’re just as delightful today as they were then.
